A perfect match

We're going to have a wedding!

My sister's getting married August 6th.  I'm excited for her, but not as excited to write a speech :p
The poem below was written by my great-grandfather for my mother's mom and dad...I hear they were quite the loving couple, which makes me smile.
I've typed the poem here, however the romance is captured much better in it's frame, handwritten and painted.

                          ~ Mary and Leo ~
Why, of course, at a wedding the bride's the whole show,
Yet, though this bride's our daughter, we'd have you all know
That this groom is a "lion" ~please pardon the pun~
Whom we're both proud and happy to welcome as son.

Oh this couple's well mated, and so much in love
That we're certain their union was welded above.
May the Lord grant them blessings for long happy years.
May they know much of smiles, and quite little of tears.

May the dream they've been dreaming prove not but a dream.
And may their just desserts be all peaches and cream.
May their love for each other be ne'er on the wane.
But as time arches on, may that love gain and gain.

For it takes much of love and devotion and care
To protect youthful hopes from the depths of despair;
And should old man adversity knock at your door.
Then let love be his conqueror ~ keep it in store.

Have great faith in each other, and hope for the best.
And whatever befalls, may your love stand the test.
May you both have God's graces to guide you through life
As a real loving husband, a real loving wife.

In you "Carl~Rock" apartment ~that sweet "two-by-four"~
May you find space abundant for pleasures galore;
For 'tis not in a palace that true joys abound,
But in "Nest of Contentment" is happiness found.

And in "Nest of Contentment," like two turtle doves
Who keep billing and cooing and pledging their loves,
May you always be dwelling, wherever you roam.
Not as builders of castles, but makers of home.

Fervent prayers of your parents, your friends and your kin
Are ascending to heaven as you two begin
To live up to the vows that you both made today
At the Altar of God ~And may He show the way~

                                                                Daddy.

Lost in Translation: partie 2

I've decided to share a few of my favorite pictures from a hilarious book our couchsurfer host in Sarajevo showed us.
Here are some of my favorites:

Beatrix Potter

Let us sit outside:  it's far too pretty out to not be sitting with the flowers.
